You are invited to join the Impatients en dyade weekly visual arts workshops for persons living with a mental health problem and their friend or family member. These workshops are led by a professional artist.
AVAILABLE TIME SLOTS
Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (starting September 13)
Thursdays, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (starting September 9)
Participants will be assigned to the same time slot each week. Please register early to be guaranteed a spot. Your slot will remain booked until you decide to withdraw. If your preferred time slot is full, you’ll be placed on a waiting list and will be notified should a space become available.
Absences are allowed, but you will need to confirm your intention to continue or your spot will be given to other participants on the waiting list.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
To register for these workshops:
- You must be accompanied by a friend or family member.
- You are not required to be a member of any of this activity’s partner organizations.
- You must agree to participate on a regular basis. Absences will be tolerated but must be justified in order to continue in the workshops.

SOCIÉTÉ QUÉBÉCOISE DE LA SCHIZOPHRÉNIE
La Société québécoise de la schizophrénie The Société québécoise de la schizophrénie (SQS) provides help, information, support, resources and guidance to people living with schizophrenia and to families and loved ones of people with schizophrenia or schizophrenia-like symptoms. Its mission is to help improve of the quality of life of people affected by schizophrenia and related psychoses through education, support, prevention and public awareness activities, and by contributing to government policies and to research initiatives throughout Quebec.
CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal
Innovation is at the core of CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal’s (CIUSSS-EMTL) activities. Thanks to its care, research and training teams, our organization is a major hub of health care innovation provincially, federally and internationally. The Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal (IUSMM) of CIUSSS-EMTL is a constantly evolving health care facility whose clinicians and researchers are at the forefront of best practices. IUSMM boasts several areas of expertise in psychotherapy, first psychotic episode detection, forensic psychiatry, neurodevelopmental psychiatry, intensive rehabilitation, mental health housing, psychotic disorders and mood disorders.
LES IMPATIENTS
Les Impatients offers creative workshops to people living with mental health problems. The workshops unlock the therapeutic benefits of art and help to alleviate the effects of mental health problems. The organization also shares its expertise with institutions and associations working with mental health clients. Initially, Les Impatients opened several workshop sites in Quebec, in collaboration with various health care facilities and community-focused venues. Many more followed. They now have 19 outlets in 12 cities in Quebec, welcoming 850 people per week.
AQPAMM
AQPAMM offers assistance to families and friends of people living with mental health problems. The organization provides information, referrals, and support. AQPAMM helps our members build healthy relationships with their loved one while nurturing their own well-being. AQPAMM works to break the isolation of families and friends, helps raise awareness among the general public and decision makers to overcome stigma, and promotes the social inclusion of people living with mental health problems.
