The Association québécoise des parents et amis de la personne atteinte de maladie mentale (AQPAMM) is a non-profit community organization. We offer assistance to families and friends of adults living with mental health problems. We provide our members with information, referrals, support, and tools to help them build healthy relationships with their loved one while ensuring their own well-being. We are committing to adapt our services to meet the changing needs of our members and community.

AQPAMM provides information, training and guidance to improve the well-being of family and friends of people with mental health problems in all types of living arrangements. AQPAMM offers a variety of activities to uplift and assist our members and to fight mental health stigma.

A society where family and friends can live their best lives and find balance in their relationships with people living with mental health problems.

Because taking care of someone with mental health issues starts with taking care of yourself. And because it’s not always easy to prioritize your own well-being when someone you love is suffering.

AQPAMM takes the time to welcome families and friends with empathy, compassion and kindness. We listen closely to our members’ needs and expectations.

AQPAMM accepts people as they are, in whatever state they’re in. We take into account each member’s needs, beliefs and role in the caregiving relationship to provide them with effective support. AQPAMM recognizes the experiential knowledge of friends and families and respects the rights of people living with mental health problems.
